Catherine & Houston | Red Rocks Trading Post Elopement
While some couples are all about grand weddings with three-digit guest lists, others prefer the privacy and exclusivity that elopements offer. And when the venue is as gorgeous and mystical as the Red Rocks Trading Post in Morrison, I can instantly picture an elopement there, which I did end up doing for my couple Catherine and Houston. Although they got married in the presence of only their close ones, love, warmth, and laughter were abundant. The wedding was all about family love, and I enjoyed being a part of my couple’s beautiful ceremony.

Catherine and Houston got ready at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Denver, and that’s when I began photographing the wedding. Catherine had designed her own wedding gown, and I must say, she did a fantastic job! It was so effortlessly stunning, and once she got dressed up, she made sure that her gown got the attention it deserved. But this isn’t all. Catherine also designed all the flower arrangements for the wedding, and honestly, I was floored! How does a bride even get the time to do all that? The pop of color she added to her bouquet added just the right amount of color to the pictures too.
Catherine’s parents traveled from Minnesota, and Houston’s family are Colorado natives. However, his father had traveled from Texas to attend the wedding. Catherine and Houston’s daughter Amia was also present and was a dutiful flower girl along with my bride’s nieces. When it was time to move to Red Rocks Trading Post, Houston’s mother, Peggy, surprised Catherine with a Limo to drive her and all the ladies to the wedding. I thought that was such a sweet gesture and, of course, the most stylish way to get to the venue.
Red Rocks Trading Post was breathtaking! It had spectacular mountain views and rustic vibes. The beautiful Red Rocks formations in a verdant garden setting offered picture-perfect backdrops for the wedding photos. Catherine and Houston were all about celebrating their love and gave me so much time (and the most perfect poses) for their couple portraits. I loved how comfortable they were taking photos. They just goofed around, danced a little, and just had the brightest smiles on their faces throughout.
